That’s why we are excited to celebrate a major blessing for our wine program: our sommelier has achieved the coveted title of Advanced Sommelier, one of only two individuals in the state of Nebraska to hold this distinction working in restaurants.

This prestigious certification, awarded by the Court of Master Sommeliers, is among the most rigorous and respected in the world. It’s an achievement that requires years of study, exceptional wine knowledge, and refined service technique. Our sommelier has demonstrated expert blind tasting ability, mastery of global wine regions, and most importantly top-tier tableside service.

An Advanced Sommelier embodies more than a barrel of knowledge and facts about wine; they are characterized by their ability to transform that knowledge and their passion for it into consistently memorable guest experiences.

What Does ‘Advanced Sommelier’ Mean?

The Court of Master Sommeliers offers a four-level certification program:

  1. Introductory Sommelier:
    • A foundational level covering wine basics, varietals, regions, and service standards.
  2. Certified Sommelier:
    • Demonstrates proficiency in blind tasting, wine theory, and restaurant wine service.
  3. Advanced Sommelier: (our sommelier’s designation)
    • Requires deep knowledge of global wine regions, expert tasting skills, and highly refined service. Fewer than 850 professionals hold this level, making it one of the most exclusive titles in the industry.
  4. Master Sommelier:
    • The pinnacle of wine certification, has been achieved by fewer than 200 individuals in the Americas.
